CICRP – Centre Interrégional de Conservation et Restauration du Patrimoine
[CICRP - Interregional Centre for Heritage Conservation and Restoration]
During the year, the various departments of the CICRP organise events related to their respective areas of activity.

The most recent CICRP Discovery Day was held on Friday, 14 December 2007 and was presented by Aurélia Chevalier, heritage restorer and doctoral candidate at the ENSAM (LCPI) on the topic of synthetic adhesives.
Painting restorers currently make use of restoration techniques that have long been applied in the profession. Relining techniques using paste or white lead were in standard use for many years before undergoing radical change in the 20th with the advent of synthetic adhesives. Ancient or recent works restored in the past need now to be de-restored before being restored again. Consequently, the reversibility of adhesives has become a genuine technological challenge.
In order to address the lack of applied research in the restoration of canvas supports, work in progress at the LCPI takes as its main objective the optimisation of the restoration process, through the transfer of innovative technologies such as lasers and nanotechnology.
